Eli and I have been talking about a Taipei trip for years. Back in August, we were heading back to Japan for the 2nd time this year for a wedding and as we searched around for flights, the least expensive options were all through Taipei. Originally we intended to go to Japan for 3 or 4 days and come right back home but we couldn’t resist adding on a long stopover.
The timing worked out perfectly and I happened to be in Taiwan right as The Wall St. Journal was putting together a piece on the food scene in Taipei. Most of our time in Taipei was spent going to all the places I had to photograph but I managed to grab a few images during inbetween moments.
One down side of doing such a quick trip was that we ended up having unideal weather during almost our entire stay. It started out somewhat clear every morning but by 9am, the drizzle would start and be on and off for the entire day. From 6am to 9am, I tried to run around to scenic spots but it was a little hectic.
By the end of our time in Taiwan, I was feeling about as rotund as that chubby shiba in the right hand photo. Most days we had about 4 meals and 3 to 4 bubble teas each.
